Might be a good idea to save some scraps. Place them in the fuel your are using ... if they dissolve ... buy your fuel somewhere else!

    Windshield Bow: extra holes

Fitting the Lexan was difficult. Eventually, I determined that the bow was too tall (it matched the plans for bending but was taller than the dimension on page 14. I cut 3/8ths-inch off the bottom of each bow leg ... problem solved! Thus, the double set of holes.

    Installing band on windshield

I used 1/8th by 3/8th-inch foam in place of 1/2-inch foam to help with the slant angle of the Lexan. Here i'm reaming the holes to #30 from #40. The drift punch is used to determine misalignment. Reaming it adjusted to create a perpendicular hole (I'm using a special #40 to #30 step drill bit).

The UC is a taildragger and sits at a steep angle. Something which allows a safe, firm grip while settling in (or attempting to get out) would be nice. Not clear what aircraft this is. He has two rearview mirrors ala. WWII fighters. The video showed a normal landing at airport.

Ercoupe Sliding Window (nice paint scheme ... I like Denny's better)

Look closely ... the righthand sliding window is closed. This would be a nice window for the Ercoupe ... open and close while in flight!

  • Ercoupe - Sliding Window

    Ercoupe - Sliding Window

At the top-center-right, you can see the sliding window. It slides on rails in the windshield hoop and turtle-deck hoop. Can be open and closed in flight! Won't give the headroom like the UltraCruiser canopy. But cheap and light weight.
