We did two loops before returning to land. This was circa 1964. I could have started gliding much sooner but thought Minnesota was not a good place to soar. WRONG!
That year I was second place for the most tows. I was also second place for the longest average flights in club gliders. I was beat by a mere fraction of a minute ... about 45 min. ave.
People were glad that the flights were "crow hops" ... just barely off the ground and land immediately. Today, I checked the FAA registry which stated that the glider was later destroyed.
